Cherokee Bulldogs 2005 Wins and News






Rock had a very good weekend.  In his first all-breed show since completing his championship, Rock won Best of Breed and Group First and then won the breed at the Bulldog Club of Greater Cleveland Specialty Show.

Congratulations to Floyd Phares on winning a four point major on Calvin's son, Brogan Hill's Man-O-War at the Richland County Kennel Club.


Congratulations to Chip and Lisa Gatt on winning Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex this weekend on Calvin's son, Cherokee Leonard II at the Starved Rock Kennel Club in Illinois.


Congratulations to Jill Siegel on finishing Ch. Cherokee Arcadia Simply Nifty with back to back majors this weekend in Pennsylvania.

Congratulations to John Kalligher on completing the championship on Calvin's son, Cherokee Happy Jack , by winning his second five point major at the Sioux Empire Kennel Club.





Rock had another outstanding weekend.  On Saturday, in his fourth show, Rock completed his championship by going Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex at the Illiana Bulldog Club Specialty show.  Rock moved up to compete in the specials class the following day and won his 3rd Best In Specialty Show.

We had a very good weekend at the specialties of The Bulldog Club of Maine.  On Saturday, Cherokee Legend Rock started the day by winning Best In Sweepstakes.  In the regular classes, Rock won the 9-12 month puppy dog class, winners dog and best of winners for 4 points.


On Sunday, Rock did even better.  He went Best of Breed from the 9-12 month puppy dog class over 10 specials for five points.  This was Rock's 2nd Best In Specialty Show from the puppy class.


Congratulations to Ruth Lebo and Bruce Smith on winning a second major on Crazy Horse's daughter, Lebo Oban Star of Hoogh's by going winners bitch at the Bulldog Club of Maine Specialty Show.


Congratulations to Nikki Bermea, Joanne Hale & Kathy Rodriguez on going winners dog at the Morris & Essex Kennel Club and winners dog and best of winners at the Hatboro Kennel Club with Pretty Boy's son, Cherokee Crewdawg Just Look Again.  These wins were from the 6-9 month puppy dog class.


Congratulations to Nikki Bermea on going winners bitch with Cherokee Arcadia Grace at the Hatboro Kennel Club.


We had a great day at the Long Island Bulldog Club Specialty Show yesterday.  Cherokee Legend Rock was shown for the first time. Rock started the day by winning Best in Sweepstakes.  In the regular classes, he then won the 9-12 month puppy dog class, winners dog, best of winners and Best in Specialty Show for five points.


The specialty was held with the Westbury Kennel Association.  Rock went on to 2nd in the Non-Sporting group.  He then went into the Puppy Non-Sporting group and placed 1st.

Congratulations to Jay and JD James on winning a 3 point major on Pretty Boy's son, Cherokee Legend Heavensent Jacob at the Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club show this weekend in Fort Collins, Colorado.





Calvin had a good week in the ring and as a stud.  On Saturday, Calvin won the Non-sporting group at the Evansville Kennel Club.

Congratulations to Ann McDarmon, Dan Haley and Dennis O'Connor on finshing Calvin's son, DV MyToys Rusty Halo to his championship.  With Rusty's championship, Calvin will now be inducted into the Bulldog Club of America Hall Of Fame as a sire.


Congratulations to Barb Morgan (co-owner) and Harriet Muetzel, Calvin's breeders.


The West Virginia Bulldog Club held their first specialty show this past Friday.  Calvin won it, going Best in Specialty Show for the 63rd time.

Another weekend with only one show sure turned out well.  At the Southern Maryland Kennel Club show, Calvin won Best of Breed, Group First and BEST IN SHOW.

Congratulations to Vern and Jean Hoppman on finishing Crazy Horse's son, Bubby's Bet On Bulldozer.

Congratulations to Stacey Gaskill on taking Cherokee Ultimate Wild Card to winners bitch and best of opposite sex at the Staten Island Kennel Club show from the 6-9 month puppy bitch class.  She is another Pretty Boy daughter with a bright future.





We had a good weekend showing in New York.  On Saturday, 5/21/05, Cherokee Heavensent Zephyr went winners dog and best of winners for a three point major at the Ladies' Kennel Association of America.  More importantly, he finished his championship.


On Sunday, Ch. Cherokee Heavensent Avalanche went Best of Breed and Group First at the Long Island Kennel Club:

Congratulations to Kathy Rodriguez whose Pretty Boy daughter, Cherokee Just Delicious, went winners bitch and best of opposite sex at the Long Island Kennel Club on Sunday.





Congratulations to Bob and Audrey Long on going Best of Winners with Cherokee Legend Paleface at the Buckeye Bulldog Club on April 23rd.  This was his second major at a specialty show.

Calvin had a record setting weekend.  We went to Maryland and he won all three specialty shows, making Calvin the TOP SPECIALTY WINNING BULLDOG OF ALL TIME.  Calvin has won 58 Bests in Specialty Show.  This weekend's wins were:

These wins are Calvin's 54th and 55th Bests in Specialty Show.


Congratulations to Mario Castro on finishing the championship on Calvin and Donna's son, Ch. Cherokee Legend Wildfire this week in Florida.





Calvin took the weekend off and we still had a terrific weekend at the shows.  Congratulations to Nikki Bermea on finishing Pretty Boy's daughter and Calvin's granddaughter, Cherokee Legend Just Fire, by winning back-to-back 4 point majors this weekend in New York.

We had a very good weekend in New Jersey, winning all three specialty shows.  Calvin was shown at the Bulldog Club of Philadelphia Specialty on Friday and at the Bulldog Club of America - Division I Specialty on Sunday.  He won both:

On Saturday, 02/12/05, Ch. Cherokee Heavensent Avalanche, finished his championship at the Long Island Bulldog Club Specialty going winners dog, best of winners and best of breed over an entry of 106, including 16 champions.
