Cherokee Bulldogs 2004 Wins and News Again, we have fallen behind in updating the news: Calvin had another terrific year as the top-winning Bulldog in America for the second consecutive year.  In Cleveland, Calvin finished the year with a Group First and his 50th Best in Specialty Show: 12/09/04 Lorain County Kennel Club Best of Breed and Group First 12/12/04 Bulldog Club of Greater Cleveland Best of Breed Ch. Cherokee Heavensent Avalanche started his show career very impressively.  In his first three days of showing he won 11 points and three majors. Calvin and Donna both had strong showings at this year's Nationals.  At the 2004 Bulldog Club of America National Specialty, Donna was Best of Opposite Sex.  The next day Donna was Best of Breed at the BCA Division VII Specialty.  At the third show, Chesapeake Bulldog Club of Greater Baltimore, Calvin went Best of Breed and Donna went Best of Opposite Sex. Calvin and his offspring had another outstanding weekend in the show ring.  Congratulations to Barb Morgan and Sandy & Stan Aspey on winning a 4 point major on Calvin's daughter, Legacy Designing Woman By CK, at the Chicago Bulldog Club Specialty Show. Calvin went to Tennessee and won back-to-back Bests in Specialty Show at the Smoky Mountains Bulldog Club: 10/30/04 Smoky Mountains Bulldog Club Best of Breed 10/31/04 Smoky Mountains Bulldog Club Best of Breed Donna went down to North Carolina this weekend and won back-to-back Bests in Specialty Show at the Piedmont North Carolina Bulldog Club.  This brings her total to 45 Bests in Specialty Show. Calvin and his offspring had another very good weekend. Congratulations to George Lai on finishing Calvin's daughter, Cherokee Cybil Of Royal Court, to her championship in just six shows.  Cybil won the points every time shown. Calvin won two more group firsts: 10/17/04 Illinois Capitol Kennel Club Best of Breed and Group First 10/18/04 Illinois Capitol Kennel Club Best of Breed and Group First We had another terrific weekend.  At the Toledo Bulldog Club Specialty Show, Donna won her 43rd Best in Specialty Show. Calvin went up to Maine and won two more specialties: 10/02/04 Bulldog Club of Maine Best of Breed 10/03/04 Bulldog Club of Maine Best of Breed Donna won her 42nd Best in Specialty at the Music City Bulldog Club. Congratulations to Dennis & Terri O'Connor and Terry & Marla Newman on going winners dog for 5 points from the 6-9 month puppy class at the Music City Bulldog Club with Pretty Boy's son, MyToys Mighty Texas Legend.  This was his first weekend in the ring. Congratulations to George Lai on winning back-to-back majors this weekend with Calvin's daughter, Cherokee Cybil of Royal Court.  On Saturday, she was winners bitch and best of opposite sex for 3 points at the Suffolk County Kennel Club.  On Sunday, she was winners bitch and best of winners for 5 points at the Long Island Bulldog Club.  These were her first two shows. Congratulations to the owners of three of Calvin's sons on recently completing their championships. Terry and Kathy Marshall finished Ch. Cherokee Legend Dreamchaser in January. Barb Morgan's Ch. Legacy Designer Genes By CK (under the adept handling of her sister/partner, Harriet Muetzel) finished with a 5 point major at the Bulldog Club of Indiana Specialty earlier this month.  This was his third major at a specialty show! This past weekend, Ch. Cherokee Legend Running Bear, owned by Sally Cataldo, also completed his championship.  Running Bear's mother is Ch. Cherokee Legend Donna. Congratulations to Connie Chambers on completing the championship of Ch. Cherokee Legend Adamant Kate (bred by Jennifer & Jay Joseph and sired by Ch. Cherokee Legend Pretty Boy).  Kate finished by winning her second five point major and going Best of Breed over 11 specials under breeder-judge Clinton Mugurussa. I have recovered sufficiently from back surgery so that Calvin and I were able to resume showing this past weekend.
